South Africa - Health care and medical treatment

The first steps of improving the opportunities of delivering a better health care and medical treatment under given resources have been taken by the Ministry/Department of Health (DOH) in South Africa by assuming Lean Thinking and methods. The initiative will be sponsored by the Belgian Development Agency. In order to learn from experience elsewhere, a workshop was held (101011), where about 80 leading employees from DOH took part and was conducted by the Lean Institute Africa, with assistance from John Shook (USA), Renée Armounts (NL) and Robert Kessiakoff (S).
